Do you have ideas about how public spaces could be more playful, sustainable and welcoming?
Join EcoMinds, a FREE series of creative workshops delivered by professional architects from Architecture for Kids CIC at the Floating Classroom, Stone Wharf, and help imagine new possibilities for the future of this unique canal-side site.
Together we’ll:
Explore Stone Wharf’s history, biodiversity and future
Investigate ideas for play, landscape and community
Learn about sustainable design and circular materials
Discover how architects and designers shape places
Create drawings, models and creative proposals
Share your vision for the future of Stone Wharf
Inspired by the work of Aldo van Eyck, Enzo Mari and Isamu Noguchi, participants will explore how design can support healthier, more inclusive and environmentally responsible communities.
The workshops focus on research, creativity and idea generation. Young people will develop imaginative concepts and proposals that respond to the unique character of Stone Wharf and the wider canal corridor.
Interested participants can also become EcoMinds Youth Ambassadors, helping shape future activities and co-create the EcoMinds Youth Design Toolkit.
Free to attend. For young people aged 12-16. No previous experience of architecture or design is required, but young people will need to be able to attend all 4 workshops for this club.
EcoMinds is a collaborative initiative between Antonio Capelao, Founder of Architecture for Kids CIC, Gonçalo Baptista, Director of Pinzauer, in collaboration with the Floating Classroom and funded by the Westminster Climate Fund.
